Youth Sailing Program, Summer 2023!

Youth Ages 9-13 years

Learn to sail this summer with the MYC Youth Sailing Program! Youth sailors learn to rig, tack, gybe and more!

The Program is open to Novice and Beginner level youth sailors between the ages 9- 13. For returning and more experienced youth sailors, opportunities exist to refresh and build your skills in sailing.

* The Marianas Yacht Club reserves the right to change classes/levels based on the needs and abilities of participants and instructors.   Every effort will be made to reassign students to a comparable class with as much advance notice as possible.   

Cost:                         

$50 members/ $50 Member-Dependent/$50 Non-Member *

Prereqs:     

• Must be comfortable in deep (can’t see the bottom) ocean water.

• Must be able to pass a swim test on the first day of class: in 4’ deep ocean water, swim 50’ non-stop without a PFD; in 30’ deep ocean water with a PFD on, tread water for 2 minutes and then swim 50’.

• Must weigh at least 60 lbs.
• Must be at least 9 years old.
• Must complete all registration forms, including release and waiver prior to start of class.

Hours:           8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Location:      Marianas Yacht Club, Sasa Bay, Piti

Boats:            Optimist Dinghy, Laser 4.7, Laser Pico

Class Size:   8 students per session
